International exchange Oslo-Cracow

Poland

This small web site is intended as an informal resource for students and staff that are interested in collaboration between the library schools at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and at Oslo University College (OUC). It is not an official page. But I hope it will help readers find the official information they need - and to place it in a practical and educational context.

International programs

Cracow and Oslo are developing international study programs for students from abroad, Both would welcome applications from students associated with their partner institution.

Cracow currently offers 15 European credits (ECTS) in English, based on four smaller modules. Oslo offers a 15 credit course on Digital documents in English. Digital documents is a master level course, but it is also open to committed third year students.

In Oslo, other modules are being planned. Some will probably be available for students that come in the autumn term 2004.

Interested students are strongly advised to contact both the sending and the receiving institution as early as possible - preferably 6 months (or more) in advance. [In Oslo, the application date for autumn programs is April 1.] These are new and experimental programs that require solid planning to be successful.

Each student will be expected to formulate a plan of studies - in collaboration with contact teachers in Cracow and in Oslo. We expect most students will need economic and practical support in order to study outside their own country. The two institutions will work closely together - and with the students - to provide acceptable support packages for study periods abroad.
