General informationOur two visitors from Cracow September 23-28 are Wanda Pindel (home page) and Remigiusz Sapa. They come from the Institute of Information and Library Science, Faculty of Management and Communication, Jagiellonian University. Pindel is the Deputy Head of the department. Sapa is an ICT-oriented teacher. Both have doctorates in library and information science. The visit is supported by Oslo University College. The arrangement continues the practical cooperation that started with courses in international library subjects in Cracow, by Tord Høivik, in 2001 and May 2003. International exchangeWanda Pindel has substantial experience with the international exchange of students and teachers in the field of library studies (Poland, China, US). Since this is a common concern to Cracow and Oslo - and of growing importance - JBI will arrange a small seminar on International exchange in library education and research. The seminar will take place on Friday, September 26. The International Section participates in the planning. Wanda Pindel will give an introductory lecture of 30 - 45 mins focusing on student exchanges. Tord Høivikwill provide a shorter comment on planning and developing interinstitutional cooperation.
