Student workshop in Bangladesh and Nepal 10
Hi!
I'm a 20 year old boy from a little town Verdal in the middle of Norway.
I've been interested in photography since the day I started freelancing in my local newspaper at the age of 14. I enjoyed journalism but the funny part was capturing frames with my camera. Therefore I decided to study photojournalism as higher education. My first published article was about rabbit jumping. Since that day I knew my future was in journalism. I have worked a lot with several kinds of media. At Highschool we used to make short movies, radio programs, photos and drawings. Hopefully I could learn how to combine some of these medias in the future. I'm currently living in Oslo and are freelancing for a newspaper called Romerikes Blad.
Now it's all about the trip to Katmandu and Dhaka. I'm looking forward to meet all of you and would hopefully be able to learn some of your way to approach pictures.
Best regards,
Martin
Here are a couple of my ideas:
YCL - Political or just an excuse for voilence
Young Communist League have spread fear among the citizens of Nepal. I'm interested in the motivation of the persons that's participating in the organisations actions. Some say they are criminals, some use them as political influence. How much do they know about politics? Is there some kind of common denominator among them? What background to each person have. I'm aware of the difficulties related to this reportage. This might be a group that is hard to come in contact with. Maybe some of you know someone that could help this reportage be possible to make? This could be a really interesting reportage to make.
Sports in Nepal
I enjoy taking sport photography. My idea is to combine action sport picture with reportage to viewe some of the biggest sports in Nepal. I've read about Kapardi' and 'dandibiyo'. The idea is to follow some of the most enthusiastic performers. In game and also at their homes. I would like to find the enique in the sport, and also the similarity with the most popular sports in the world. I've also read that soccer and cricket are the most common sports in Nepal.
