OUC photojournalism programme 2009/10

Student workshop in Bangladesh and Nepal 10

Hello, my name is Haakon J. Kristiansen. At the momemt im residing in Oslo, Norway. Here I study photojournalism at HiO. I first started taking pictures about 4 years ago. I work as a freelancer, but don't work that much. School is way important.

Besides taking pictures I like to listen to music, work out and hang out with my friends.

I am looking forward to travelling to Bangladesh and meeting you guys. Im sure we are going to have some good times. I am also looking forward to working together with some of you on my ideas.

Best regards,

Haakon.

My ideas:

Mangrove-forest: The Mangrove forest is a natural shelter against natural disasters such as tsunami, typhoons etc. I want to travel to the Sundarbans and look at how the local population is living along side with this forest. I also want to see if the forest is protected against illegal foresting. Since this is such an important forest.

If someone is interested in cooperating with me on this project, I would love some input, and maybe a travel companion. Take contact with me on mail if you are interested.

Tigerwidows: The population of Bangladesh is growing and people build houses closer and closer to the forest. I wanna do something on killings made by the Bengal Tiger, maybe the people who get left behind after attacks by this nature. If anyone got any ideas on how I can do this, i would be happy to know.
