Student workshop in Bangladesh and Nepal 10
Hi
My name is Anette Karlsen and I´m 26 years old. I live in Oslo, but my hometown is Tønsberg (around one hour south of Oslo).
I have been taking pictures since the age of fourteen, but back then it was just for fun. After highschool I decided to try and learn some more about it. I went to two different schools. The first school was about journalism, making newspapers and taking pictures. At the other school we learned about taking pictures with film, develop it and print it. After that I started working as an assistant for a fairly well known Norwegian photographer named Bo Mathisen ( www.bomathisen.no ). I learned a lot from him, and after two years I applied for photojournalism at Oslo University College.
I like to get to know new people, listen to their stories, seeking new and different cultures and taking pictures of people in their own surroundings. I don't like telling people what to do in front of the camera. I rather hang around, waiting for the right moment.
I want to tell stories through my pictures, and hopefully be a voice for unfortunate people that lacks a voice of their own.Every now and then I´m working as a freelancer for different newspapers and magazines.
I´m going to Nepal for our fieldtrip. And I want to do a project on the Dalitts in Surket or the Terai area.
My homepage is: http://anettekarlsen.no/ (I´m sorry, it´s in Norwegian but pictures dos not have a language)
