Norway has signed
an agreement with Bangladeshi authorities to support the national programme
"Primary Education Development Programme" (PEDP), with a total allowance
of 285 million NOK over a five years periode (1998-2003). The Norwegian part
is called "Project for Quality Improvement" (PEPDPQI), and is
mainly earmarked the improvement of teacher training quality, as well as
the strengthening of central governemental institutions. The international
center of The Faculty of Education at Oslo Univerrsity College, LINS, supervises and evaluates the
Norweagian part, financed by NORAD.
In addition agreements
have been signed between The Department uf Education in Bangladesh and The
Oslo University College, Faculty of Education, on making courses on modern
teaching methods for Teacher Educators in mathematics, science
and english.
