Head of research area Childhood, Diversity and Inclusion (Oppvekst, Mangfold og Inkludering) at Oslo University College.
2008: Analyses of hip-hop lyrics. Studies of dance groups in the Chilean immigrant community.
2005-2006: "Bonds
and Boundaries" studies of music produced in an urban youth
setting. Part of the CULCOM-programme at the University of
Oslo.
1999-2004. PhD project "Development of identity among
young immigrants through musical activity." This research focused mainly on
musical activity among Chilean imigrants in Norway. Part of the research was
conducted at the Chilean cultural center Casa Cultural Chilena. Two of
the most prominent music groups at the center were
Tatati
and Canta
Chile.

I teach at the
Music department, FLU.
Faculty of education, Oslo
University College.
I teach two courses in English: "The Aesthetics of
Daily Life" and "Multicultural Identity in a Global World".
I also
teach parts of the the course World Music and Norwegian Folk Music (Verdensmusikk og Norsk Folkemusikk) spring 2009 at the
University of Oslo.
