    15 years of missionary work in Japan, Fukuyama and Kobe, 1975-1991, with
    2 homeleaves, 1980-81 og 1985-86. My work consisted mainly of the 3 following areas:
    Congregational work (Pastor), Teaching (Associate Professor of Old Testament Theology
    at Kobe Lutheran Theological Seminary) and
    Administration (Principal/Board Chairman of Kansai Missionary Language Institute, and serving on several boards in church and mission).
    Teacher Education, Telemark College, Notodden, 1992-95, Oslo University College, 1996- , with experience from both of the two study programmes, Degree Programme in Early Childhood Education as well as the Primary School Teacher Programme.
    Associate Professor from 1993.
    Miscellaneous: Guiding Japanese tourists in Norway, a few weeks every summer since 1992
