Nordic Network for Multicultural Educational Research

The network is multidisciplinary and associated to the Nordic Educational Research Assocation - NERA. The network is open to researchers in the Nordic countries that are engaged in multicultural educational research. By multicultural educational research is meant research that analyses learning, teaching, socialisation and education in kindergarten, school and higher education in relation to the multicultural population in school and society.

The network was established in Stockholm in March 2001.
The annual network meeting is at the annual NERA Congress which is organised by the  Nordic Educational Research Association.
English is the language of communication within the network.

Purpose

  • To contribute to the development of multicultural educational research in the Nordic countries and the proliferation of Nordic multicultural research at an international level.
  • To stimulate dialog between researchers who work with multicultural educational research in the Nordic countries.
  • To stimulate research cooperation at Nordic level; research symposiums and network meetings etc.
  • To recruit new researchers to the field of multicultural education.
